Privacy first, privacy always

Your family’s details belong to your family

Most people in a family tree never signed up for it. So we protect them like they’re our own.

End-to-end encrypted

Phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses and anything you mark Personal are encrypted on your devices before they ever reach us.

Zero knowledge

No master key, no back door, no support override. You hold your own recovery key, so even Amora Tree can’t read them.

Never shared with other people

Personal details stay with you and your co-owners. They never go to family members, other trees or starter copies.

Never visible to AI

Your AI assistant only sees what you allow, and personal details are locked out completely.

You decide who sees what

One simple table shows, field by field, what members, other trees and AI can see. Owners are clearly labelled as seeing everything.

GDPR-ready

Built for UK and EU privacy law and US state privacy laws, with full export and real deletion whenever you ask.

“Even Amora Tree can’t read your relatives’ personal details.”

An independent security audit is planned before launch. How our privacy works

How it works

From one name to a living family tree

  1. Start with you

Add yourself, then your parents, grandparents and the people you love. Or import an existing GEDCOM file in minutes.

  2. Invite your family

Send an invite to each branch. Aunts, cousins and grandparents add the names, dates, photos and stories only they know.

  3. Share and grow

Give relatives a starter copy of their own, link trees both ways, and review every suggestion before it’s added.

  4. Ask and remember

Ask your AI assistant who’s who, how you’re related, or where the family came from.

Wherever you are

On every device your family uses

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is Amora Tree?

Amora Tree is a private, beautifully simple family tree you build with the people you love. Map your family on any device, invite relatives to add what they know, connect it to an AI assistant to ask questions, and keep every memory, photo and story in one place, with your relatives’ personal details end-to-end encrypted.

When can I start?

Amora Tree is coming soon. Join the waitlist and we’ll email you as soon as you can create your tree. We’re opening in stages so everyone gets a smooth start.

How much will it cost?

Plans and prices aren’t final yet, so our pricing page shows indicative tiers only. Two things won’t change on any plan: encryption is never a paid extra, and you can always export your own data.

Who can see my family’s details?

You decide. Owners and co-owners see everything, and that’s labelled clearly. For family members, other trees and AI, you choose field by field what each can see. Phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses and anything you mark Personal are never shared with other people, whatever the settings.

Can Amora Tree read my relatives’ personal details?

No. Personal details are encrypted on your own devices before they reach us, with keys that only your devices and your recovery key hold. There’s no master key and no back door, so even Amora Tree can’t read them.

What happens if I lose my recovery key?

Keep it somewhere safe, such as a password manager or a printed copy. A co-owner’s device can also restore your access. Because we hold no keys, we can’t recover personal details for you. Everything else in your tree stays safe either way.

Does the AI assistant see everything?

Only what you allow. You choose which details your AI assistant can use, and personal details are never visible to AI. Any change the AI suggests is shown to you first, needs your OK, and can be undone.

Can my relatives have their own tree?

Yes. You can invite family into your tree, with each person seeing their own branch, or give them a starter copy they own and build on. Starter copies never include personal details. Later, you can link your trees and share both ways.

Can I bring my existing tree?

Yes. Import a GEDCOM file (versions 7.0 and 5.5.1, including GEDZIP with photos) from most family tree apps, and export yours whenever you like.

Is Amora Tree GDPR-ready?

Yes. It’s designed for UK and EU privacy law as well as US state privacy laws: clear consent, a full export of your data, and real deletion when you ask. Our full privacy policy will be published before launch.
